everyone seems to be taller around her

and not because they are standing up straighter

because she creates giants out of everyone she sees

because she is unafraid to love boldly

because she remembers details about their lives

and because she has a way of infecting you

and i know that joy

it’s real, but not

one dimensional

she is truly really happy

and she is truly hurting

she does only sometimes feel alone

only sometimes feel so much pain it’s hard to find room for anything else

only sometimes wish so much for her children,

and that doesn't make it any less true when she says she is doing
